There isn’t much I’m going to say about this magnificent genre marriage of film noir thriller with highschool drama, except: go, see it. A remarkable script, pitch perfect performances, a multitude of lovely details and references: Just go, already.
I’ll add the thought that kept popping into my head during the second half of the show; how would this concept work if instead of amongst believable, if surreal, high school mobsters, the whole plot would be set among preschoolers, driven around for their misdeeds by the headless torsoes of their parents. I think I’d watch that.
